Eric advises both lenders and borrowers in matters involving commercial lending and general finance, as well as handling various areas of real estate, including real estate financing, leasing and the acquisition and sale of real estate related assets. He also counsels clients with respect to distressed assets and loans, representing parties in the purchase and sale of troubled assets and lenders and borrowers in workouts of commercial loans.

A member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the Columbus Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association, Eric has also been named to the Best Lawyers in America (Banking and Finance Law) for 2013 through 2021 and the Best Lawyers in America (Real Estate Law) for 2020 and 2021.

Intrigued by being part of a profession that has played such an integral role in the founding and growth of our city, state and country, the law seemed a natural choice for Eric. Great part of his job: working with a group of genuine friends. Greatest part of his job: daily interaction with exceptional clients, fellow attorneys and community leaders alike.

In his time away from the office, Eric enjoys cycling, skiing and racing in the Sports Car Club of America. Eric also served for almost 10 years as President of the Board for local charity, Kids ‘n Kamp. But Eric’s favorite activity is spending quality time his wife Colleen and their two sons — exploring National Parks in an RV while the boys were younger, and more recently, traveling to Europe to explore England, France and Italy and finding great destinations in the Western US and Canada to mountain bike.
